An ordinary Ivorian passport is not currently eligible for Russia’s unified e‑visa. For tourism, expect a regular visa and determine which form of tourist support the Russian post receiving the file accepts.
Start with jurisdiction
Abidjan, Paris and Brussels can all be places where an Ivorian citizen lives; they are not automatically interchangeable places of visa application. Confirm that the selected Russian post accepts the applicant’s residence status and check how long the residence document must remain valid.
Only then choose the invitation. This avoids paying for a document produced for a post that will not receive the file.
What the tourist support does
Tourist confirmation and voucher identify the supporting Russian organisation and the planned stay. They supply host details for the official application. They do not guarantee approval and should not conflict with:
- the passport;
- dates;
- cities;
- entries;
- actual purpose;
- accommodation information.
A French-speaking application is still an exact application
Translating guidance can make the process understandable. Translating names, references or passport fields “to make them look French” can make the application wrong. Copy machine-readable identity data exactly and preserve issuer information as instructed.
Tourism versus another purpose
A holiday uses tourist support. Commercial meetings may use a business invitation. Work and study need host-led categories. If the principal activity is unclear, obtain a route check before buying any document.
The Ivorian route
Plan for a regular visa. Verify the receiving post and its accepted invitation format, then keep every document aligned. Residence abroad changes jurisdiction and supporting evidence; it does not put Côte d’Ivoire on the e‑visa list.
