The same Russian trip can begin many different ways.

Questions people ask before they commit
Why are there fewer editorial country guides than passport pages?
The complete passport directory covers all 196 foreign ordinary passports. A deeper editorial guide is added only when a route, residence issue, local filing practice or official-source caution deserves treatment beyond the standard evidence page.
Does living in another country change Russian visa eligibility?
Lawful residence normally changes the application post, not the citizenship route. A residence permit does not transfer the host country’s visa-free agreement or e-visa eligibility to a different passport.
Do all passport holders need a Russian visa invitation?
No. A qualifying visa-free trip or unified e-visa requires no invitation. Invitation or other support becomes relevant only after a regular visa category and the true purpose have been identified.
Which authority provides the final Russian visa checklist?
Central MFA sources establish the federal entry route. The embassy, consulate or authorised visa centre accepting the application in the traveller’s country of lawful residence provides the final local checklist.
