An Algerian residence card in France is not a French passport, and a French address does not open the Russian e‑visa. For an ordinary Algerian passport, the current route is a regular visa: Algeria is not on the unified e‑visa list, while the official table limits its stated exemptions to particular diplomatic and service passports.
Tourism: identify the accepted support
A regular tourist application commonly rests on tourist confirmation and voucher issued by an authorised Russian host organisation. The exact format, supporting evidence and submission method must still be checked with the Russian post receiving the application.
Before buying support, know:
- where the application will be filed;
- whether that post accepts resident non-citizens;
- whether electronic tourist support is sufficient;
- whether proof of French, Belgian, Canadian or other residence is required;
- whether the itinerary or nationality triggers extra review.
This is especially important for Algerian citizens living outside Algeria. A website can issue a PDF globally; it cannot grant filing jurisdiction globally.
A simple trip, written simply
For two weeks in Moscow and St Petersburg, the file should make that ordinary plan easy to see. Dates on the invitation and form align. The passport name is copied exactly. Cities do not appear and disappear between documents. The number of entries reflects the actual route.
A connection outside Russia is not automatically a second Russian entry. Leaving Russia for another country and returning is.
France residence example
An Algerian citizen holding a valid French residence permit plans to apply in Paris. The traveller should first confirm that the Russian application arrangement in France accepts the file and verify the required residence-permit validity. The invitation should then be ordered for the route and format accepted there.
The traveller remains Algerian for visa eligibility. If they also hold a French passport and intend to use it, that is a different calculation: France currently qualifies for the e‑visa for a suitable trip.
Tourism is not a universal wrapper
Visiting an exhibition as a spectator can differ from installing a stand as paid work. Meeting a supplier can differ from taking employment. Studying for a semester cannot be packaged as a 14-day tourist story.
Choose the category from the real main activity. Business, work and study invitations come through different hosts and timelines.
What not to send first
For an initial route or quote, citizenship, residence, purpose, dates, entries and filing city are usually enough. Do not broadcast a full passport scan through several messaging accounts merely to ask whether an invitation is available.
Once a defined service genuinely needs identity data, use the designated secure method and understand who the issuer is.
